Highwater 2020

Most of these paintings were completed during the Covid Season of 2020. Certainly an exercise in patience, or as my father used to say, “ Enough is too much!” It has been several months since I finished them, so re-connecting with the work has been very interesting and somewhat challenging -- sort of like prodigal children, and I am asking “Who ARE you?”

I found myself drawn to contemplative imagery, often escapist, muted and shifting in color, suggesting walls of some kind, reeds, water, tree forms, all hiding or protecting what is behind them.
